I was for my part, very pleased with this long-awaited rematch between current middleweight champion Anderson "The Spider" Silva and upset former middleweight champion Rich "Ace" Franklin, the Silva the championship won by almost a year ago by knocking him in the first round had. If this were a repetition of the first fight with Silva retaining the title, or Franklin would avenge his earlier loss and Silva get back to the track? As the old saying goes, "Only Time Will Tell" and on thisNight it is doing.
The fight:
What will follow is a detailed analysis of the professional fight from start to finish, closing with some final thoughts about both fighters. Please note that these are my views from my own point of view of the events that transpired. They are not intended to shed involved any kind of negative or disparaging thoughts, words, etc. on one of the two fighters. I have a great respect for all, and I mean anyone whoSteps on the mat. So go further let's begin.
Round One:
The first round began with both fighters trying Meeting in the middle of the ring, where they circled each other for a few seconds to get a read on each other. Franklin threw the first blow in battle with a roundhouse kick right leg on the inside of the right thigh Silva's sadly missed. Franklin followed his first attack with a right jab to the head (that missed) andother right leg roundhouse kick to the inside of the thigh that Silva landed, although not much with power.
Franklin kept the pressure on Silva again another attack started with a two punch combination to the head once more to the right leg roundhouse kick to the inside of the right thigh Silva's that again landed followed, but with little power and no influence on Silva. Silva countered this attack with a right jab, the face of Franklin achieve that against hisintended target. Although Silva's Punch could not land, he demonstrated an advanced knowledge of the leg work that truly indicative of not only their current capabilities but also its future potential.
Franklin steps forward and throws a right jab to the head falls on the short and follows with a four punch combination to the head of Silva, none of which find their target. Franklin finished the attack with another right leg roundhouse kick to the inside of the thigh that Silvalands again, but not with much force on it. Silva proceeds to fight this attack with a strike to the knee while on midsection Franklin's neck with his left hand. This would later be a very effective tactic as.
Both men went to other wage a constant loggerheads with each other and pulled each other around the ring until it stopped against the two fences. Silva had initially Franklin against the fence, where both men exchanged kneeStrikes at the other facilities. Franklin ends Swing the fence and forces him back against Silva for a few seconds before he finally forced to land Silva. Once on the ground, trying to pass Silva's guard Franklin, but not in a position to do Silva KicKing initiation of a defense to keep out of the ground in order Franklin back.
This tactic proved effective and allows the opportunity Silva, his feet again. Although Franklin still trying Silva returned to theGround by wrapping both arms around the left leg Silva. Silva manages to keep his balance on the while on his left leg for several seconds before releasing Franklin Silva back the leg and forces him against the fence. Both fighters exchange knee strikes the middle section, before finally breaking free of their relative standing clinch.
Franklin tried a kick with his right leg, but Silva counters with a beautifully executed left leg turning back kick to theMiddle section of Franklin, which landed solid and momentarily stopped Franklin in his title. Both men exchanged blows in the middle of the octagon, only a few of which end up either fighter, and none of which are areas with real effect. At the end of this exchange, Franklin was another country the right leg roundhouse kick to the inside of the right thigh Silva.
Franklin continued the attack by the introduction of three punch combination with the last punch, a right hook to the chinLanding solid, but without visible effect Silva. Silva comes back from this attack by stepping forward and throwing a punch that land, but establishment of a left leg roundhouse kick down, ends up with the upper body under the right arm of Franklin.
Silva continued to push the advantage to force his head Franklin against the fence, where he grabs Franklin's neck with his left hand while throwing (and landing) several blows to the. Silva even managesLand and throw a knee strike the middle of Franklin. Franklin counter this attack with a few well-thrown punch of his own to the middle Silva by a knee strike.
Franklin, who appears stunned depends on Silva and forces him back against the fence and remains in a standing position while allowing a single clinching knee strikes Silva's midsection. Silva reversed position with Franklin and delivers his own knee strikes Franklin's midsection.
Bothseparate combatants and to move the ring with Franklin, stepping forward and throw a few punches to the head of Silva, followed by a left leg roundhouse to the chest des Although it did not seem much force on the kick. Silva fires back with a left leg front kick in the face of Franklin, the end to fail.
Both men exchanged blows with Franklin landing firmly with two of his blows thrown. However, Silva gave a very impressive displayavoided by "bobbing and weaving" while standing in one place several punches and even a kick from Franklin thrown. Franklin continued to stalk and Silva landed a spinning back fist that landed on the side of Franklin head. It would be very effective, except that he landed at the end of the blow and with the forearm, instead of the back of the fist.
Silva was the spinning back fist with a flying knee strike to the head of an uppercut blow to the head followed, boththe land with some authority. Silva throws punches and still always ends in a Muay Thai Clinch Franklin, where he lands a nice knee strike to the midsection. Both men exchanged blows with Silva landing a right hook to the jaw of Franklin, with about 2 seconds left in. This blow fell Franklin and allows Silva to attack key until the buzzer sounded the end of the round, the referee John McCarthy stepped stopRound. In my opinion, Franklin was literally saved by the buzzer, and show further signs that stunned when he made it back to his corner.
Round Two:
Franklin continued to look dazed as he opened up the thigh in the second round with a left leg roundhouse kick outside the right of Silva. Although the kick landed, it did not seem to have any effect on Silva. Franklin has ended up with this combination of three stamps on the head, none of which, andother left leg roundhouse kick to the hip of Silva.
Franklin continued to attack with several more punch attempts, hit the head, none of which landed interfere with them. Silva countered this attack with a roundhouse kick left leg on the right calf of Franklin and a straight blow to the back of his right hand that momentarily forced Franklin. Franklin came forward again and ran a punching attack to the head, which was basically ineffective.
Silva onIn contrast Clinch countered this attack with the left hand around his neck the head Franklin combined with a knee attack to the body and an attack on the Stanze. Silva landed several blows before grabbing Franklin head and neck with both hands and deliver a knee strike on the head with his left knee, and then immediately follows with another knee strike his head with his right knee. This last counter-attack led Silva stopped the fightas the double knee strike combination Franklin ended putting the canvas with just under four minutes left on in the second.
The Knockout:
Now there were several factors that were directly responsible for the knockout stages, which ended the fight. Some were provided by Silva, while others were even provided by Franklin. I have these factors to fighters and they are broken as follows:
Anderson Silva:
1st Exquisite techniqueHolding and hitting, as shown right, into the fight by using the left hand and returns with the stamp.
2nd Your ability to fall Muay Thai clinch and knees to take advantage of the perfect body and head textbook and is very effective.
3rd Their ability to calm during the whole fight is one of your best weapons, as it can act to see you realize all the possibilities and appropriately.
4th Their "smoothness" of technology is another greatAsset and shows a high degree of skill.
5th Your pinpoint accuracy with his knee strikes and stamp shows great skill and discipline.
6th Her hand and foot combinations were fantastic. Keep up the good work!
Rich Franklin:
1st Leave off your hat, literally!
2nd She seemed genuinely concerned about how you entered the Octagon.
3rd It allows Silva in close and clinch and strike, which causes you to lose against Silva is to getthe first time.
4th They fought fight Silva instead of your struggle.
5th They seemed to hold back a little on your punches and kicks.
My recommendations:
Here are my thoughts on how each fighter could on their skills especially in the context of this struggle to improve.
Anderson Silva:
His strategy for this particular fight was almost flawless. But here is the one thing that was really for me.
1st You need to work on yourKicks to them more efficiently and thus more effective. Your Roundhouse kicks were delivered on a slanted top, instead of the correct angle for maximum effect.
Rich Franklin:
Physically, one could clearly see that he was in much better shape for this fight than his previous fight with Silva. However, it seemed mentally that he was very anxious once the fight began. Here are a few other things I noticed.
1st You need to work on yourKicks to them more efficiently and thus more effective. Your Roundhouse kicks were delivered on a slanted top, instead of the correct angle for maximum effect.
2nd to be missing your roundhouse kicks seemed no real power. Work to develop powerful kicks.
3rd They were physically ready for this fight. However, I feel mentally that you are not quite prepared for this fight and these must be considered in the future.
Final thoughts:
The professionalism andRespect, that these two fighters showed each other and the sport are truly an inspiration to all who are watching not only train, and the MMA community, but also those who take part in any martial arts.
My tips:
Silva:
Anderson Silva will come to keep the championship in the middleweight division for years. The only way I see it is to beat, if he goes the way of the other notable champions and is in the "Hollywood" type atmosphere captured andAttitude leads and then on into the Octagon. Apart from that, he should do, and I do not foresee anyone in the immediate future, it is a run for his money.
Franklin:
Rich Franklin has returned to the drawing board and forget about Silva and the title only after at least five or six other major battles against the quality opponents to get his opinion was the right thing for the octagon and a possible rematch with Silva. His career is far from over when hetakes time to regain the old Rich Franklin.
