If as many golf lessons as I have given, it does not take much thought to figure out that slicing is golf's most common swing faults. Indeed, many players who attend meetings on my weekend golf instructions for the first time cut in, cut the two men and women with about the same amount. And they all want one thing when they come for the first time for me to know: How can I cure my slice?
Curing your slice is not easy, especially if you had it for a long time. You have the deep-rootedSwing error in your mind and muscles, changes in it is uncomfortable and strange. But the benefits of slicing weigh less far heavier than the costs. Hitting straighter shots more consistently, not only keeps you on the fairway, but also reduces strokes from your golf handicap, because it produces better approach shots.
Causes a slice, the causes of a slice are well documented and in magazines often discussed in golf instruction. Four things trigger a disc:
1st Upper body to rotatesoon
2nd Hands are too high impact
3rd Waist outrace the club on the downswing
4th Grip the end gets too far in front of the club head at impact.
These errors leave the clubface open at impact, a big swing errors. How major? Recent research by a club manufacturer indicates that an open society with an S-flex shaft with 9.3 degrees loft and the face is about 2 degrees to effect a shot, the end 16 degrees to the finish. Of course, you have toClubface square at impact with the ball to hit straight.
Slices and cures, we consider the four most common types of the disc and consider four holes, you can help the practice to cure your slice. Your Divots will tell you what kind of slice you have.
1st Opening Up Too Soon (Pull The Slice) This is perhaps the second most common slice type. Its generated by your right shoulder and move on through the downturn, so get to the playing surface in the ball on the outside-in swing path. YourHands felt that the club from the outside to keep the playing surface the way, which lead to a pull-slice open. With iron shots of your divot points left of target.
Drill: Hit practice balls with his back foot moved back a few inches before the finish line and the heel down. Swing the club back, a full shoulder turn. The idea is to feel as if you swing the club especially with the arms and shoulders through impact. Let your body respond to the swinging of the armsand the releasing of the clubhead.
2nd Handle to high impact if your hands are too high to just before impact and through the ball, run the club head behind you. Often this happens because the golfer tries to clear the hips too fast or does not trust the loft of the club to the ball to get some air. Whatever the cause, you end up with a disk. There is little or no divot with iron.
Drill: Take your normal address position. Do you keep a friend to a club griphovering just above your hands. As you swing back and through your friend should always his club grip end constant. Concentrate your hand to just let happen to his club.
3rd Body outrace Club (The Slice Push) with the push-slice your ball starts on the right side of your goal, then goes even further to the right. Usually this means that your body outrace the club head. Some people call this a lunge. To compensate, some people try to mirror the club through the ball with their hands in aEfforts, the club face square to the ball.
Drill: Use your driver or fairway wood. Tee the ball on. Take your address as usual, but with the left leg positioned slightly inside the ball. Only on the front foot. Swing the club back and through, and try hitting the ball. Alternate takes five balls on one leg, then with the normal swing. 4th To handle the ball well before arrival to handle far off the club head is probably the most common cause ofSlice. The primary problem is back of forearm rotation. If you have a strong impact of the ball and it starts straight down to the finish line curving to the right. With your irons, the divot would place the target line.
Starting with knockdown pitches, rotate your left forearm (for right) during the swing bottom face of the Sun left ankle just after impact with the playing surface folding. Let your right hand, come from the association. OnceYou get the hang of this, other clubs. This drill increases the speed and squares of the playing surface for a straight shot the club head.
Notice how you practice these exercises, you do not like, you can turn your slice into a draw. Hitting a fade has its advantages, too. The key is, whatever the nature of the shot to develop your shot hitting a reliable, consistent, again, that keeps you from trouble and gives you control over where the ball lands. The type of shot is cut by a stroke both yourScores and your golf handicap.
